So in the last week, I have had the come down festival week to the news of an interview for Red Funnel next Thursday and today I travelled the entire circumference of the island covering the Round the Island Race. Coming back to the festival, the weather was well documented as it was really brutal conditions across the weekend. The shots I got of the conditions were used on the County Press website and the mud and rain alone was an experience. Despite this set back, had an amazing weekend. Awesome live bands and such a great atmosphere with the vast crowds that attended. Definitely returning next year. Since then I covered the Round the Island Race today. Wasn’t lucky enough to get a pass for a position on a press boat and I really feel my images suffered because of this. Overall I was disappointed with my results, but in the end reverted to captured the boats as part of a landscape series. A slightly different take on the race, but make the best of what you have. A learning curve for next year, I must take to the water!
